Who are we? Why are we doing this?
We’re a group of people who dig into the stories history books often skipped over.
The inventors, activists, artists, scientists, soldiers, organizers, and absolute weirdos who helped shape America — but somehow never became household names.
We research them, write a little about them, find interesting photos and documents, and share their stories with other curious people.
Why?
Because American history is way more interesting than most of us were taught.
And honestly, teachers and textbooks only have so much time and space. They tend to focus on the biggest names and broadest events. That makes sense.
But history was built by millions of people, not just a handful of famous ones.
So we’re here to help fill in some of the gaps.
Thankfully, we’re not the only ones doing this kind of work. There are lots of historians, researchers, writers, archivists, museums, and creators uncovering forgotten stories every day.
Just remember:
always check your sources.
Some people genuinely care about historical accuracy.
Some people just make dramatic YouTube videos in their basement.
There’s a difference.
